You start considering your nursing options There are many options as a nurse. Which path is for you? Which one would you be happiest in? Simply put,what kind of nurse would you make?
There are many nurse categories. There are a million ways to categorize them. In the end, there are only 2 essentials - your education and work experience. There are 5 major nursing categories. Which one fits you?
Nurses are categorized according to their educational level. Your degree bears a lot of weight in your career. This is a major distinguishing factor. Nursing students should prioritize their education. It is a major factor in this field.
You must know who you'd like to help most. It's much easier to help people you truly care about. Determine the population of your segment. Choose to be a pediatric nurse if you love kids. Geriatrics are for those who like serving older people.
Your nursing option may also depend on the location and department of your choice. Do you want to be a school nurse or a flight nurse? Do you want to work in homes or in hospitals? Would you rather be in ERs or Ors? The choices are limitless so the earlier you determine the course you intend to take, the better.
Ponder on your specialization. Analyze your strengths and weaknesses. Your personality will help determine what kind of nurse you'll be
